The US remake of JIAN GUI (THE EYE) hasn’t even hit yet and already a remake of the sequel is being set up. While the original remake (try typing that without laughing) will have a completely separate plot from its source material, the sequel will apparently follow the premise of its predecessor.
Titled IN-UTERO, the film is about a pregnant woman who has a near-death experience that results in her seeing dead spirits.
Not the most exciting concept ever, but interesting enough I suppose. Gold Circle Films and Vertigo Entertainment are co-producing this puppy. Unfortunately that means Tom Cruise will not have his fingers in the sequel pie. Too bad since the concept could easily be the launching pad for another misinformed tirade against mothers suffering from depression.
I can just hear it now: “I don’t care if your near death and impending child have you seeing dead people! You need exercise and vitamins! And the love of Katie Holmes! No wait she’s mine!
Ooops. Little tangent there. But seriously, does anyone else think he must be planning on killing someone? Because the only thing that makes sense of his behavior to me is that he’s planting the seeds for an insanity defense.
