I’ve said before that I’m not a huge Asian horror fan, but sometimes a film comes along that I can’t help but say that it looks like a sweet trip. Case in point: SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE. It has a style slicker than snot and an odd mixture of comedy and thriller which works, as hard as that is to believe.
Over at Suicide Girls, they’ve posted an interview with the writer and director of SYMPATHY, Chan-wook Park. In the interview, Park discusses the film, which is actually the tail-end of a trilogy of revenge stories by Park (who also directed OLDBOY), and his future projects. One of the projects involves “a question of identity”, and the other involves a God vs. The Devil religious story. Interesting, to say the least.
