With all the hoopla about the much-rumoured SCREAM 4 and its ‘is it or isn’t it happening?’ aura, there really hasn’t been much if any input from the man who started the dang series. Sure, we know that Sidney won’t be back, and the Arquettes will most probably will be back (it’s not like David’s busy or anything). But what about Wes?
According to Dark Horizons, one of their reporters met up with Wes in Paris where he’s busy promoting RED EYE, and was asked about the recent developments regarding the fourth film. His response was:
“I had a lunch with Neve [Campbell] where she told me Dimension Films offered her to reprise her role in SCREAM 4. I was totally surprised because nobody has ever mentioned such a project to me. But as far as I’m concerned, I don’t think it would be a wise decision to do a 4th [film]. First because I think everything has already been told within the first three movies and I don’t want to make the one more that would be the wrong one. And second because Dimension won’t really be interested in contacting me right now just after the troubles we had on CURSED.”
‘Troubles’ is an understatement, given the fact that Dimension put more effort into screwing with Wes’ head than giving him support for the damn movie. Things are looking bad already for this film, and it hasn’t even gotten into pre-production yet! Stay tuned.
