Montreal madness!!

As a college student, my funds are limited in almost every way, save for DVDs and beer. Because of that, I can’t travel very much, which is a real kick in the crotch when stuff like this comes down the pipe.

Last year, the first annual Montreal’s Midnight Madness was such a big success, that for its second year, organizers Christal Films have pulled out all the stops for horror fans come October 22. The event will be held at Cinéma Impérial from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. Included in the selections are two premieres which should instantly peak your attention:

• 10 p.m.: The North American premiere of THREE… EXTREMES, three short films inspired by the nightmares of Takashi Miike, Fruit Chan and Park Chan-Wook
• Midnight: The Canadian premiere of SAW II, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, which will be in theatres throughout North America on October 28
• 2 a.m.: For the first time on the silver screen, RIDING THE BULLET by Mick Garris (check out the interview with Arrow here), based on a story by Stephen King
• 4 a.m.: The audience will choose from the following three films: UNDEAD by Michael and Peter Spierig, HIGH TENSION by Alexandre Aja and THE DEVIL’S REJECTS by Rob Zombie

Sweet! Not only do you get to see SAW II almost a week earlier than the rest of North America, but you also get to see THREE… EXTREMES before anyone else in North America, period. All of the films will be shown in English, with tickets on sale now from the Admission Network, at three Club International Vidéo Film locations (1150, Ste-Catherine E., 2200, Mont-Royal E., 611, Duluth E.) and at the door.
