Got some cool news from the Tartan camp concerning new DVD releases and one seriously awesome autograph session.
Star gazing first. If you live in or around the NY area then you’re in luck you f*ckers because Park Chan-Wook (OLDBOY) is signing autographs from 6 -7 pm this Thursday at the Tower Records at 20 East 4th Street (212-505-1166). This is his first US in-store signing ever!
Now onto DVD release news. Two new flicks are hitting our shores this month and while the pics for them are a bit on the blah side, the concept behind both sounds great. Read on:
SPIDER FOREST:
Deep in the forest, a man and woman have been brutally attacked in a cabin and left to die. Arriving too late, Kang (Gam Woo-sung) chases the killer only to be hit by a speeding car.
Barely surviving surgery, he now finds himself a prime suspect in the double murder case. He cannot shake the feeling that there are strange gaps in his memory regarding the night in question and the killer’s identity. While a police investigation sets out to confirm his story, he begins his own quest to remember what happened. As he pieces together the fragments of a bizarre dream, his own nightmares may hold the key to the truth.
UNBORN BUT FORGOTTEN:
In Unborn But Forgotten, women who have no apparent relationship to one another begin inexplicably dying 15 days after visiting a mysterious website. Oddly, each woman appears to have given birth before her demise, although friends and family members all vehemently deny that they were pregnant. While filming a documentary on the phenomenon, a reporter (Lee Eun-ju, Tae Guk Gi/Brotherhood of War) joins the investigation of Detective Choi (Jeong Jun-ho, Another Public Enemy, Married to the Mafia), which leads to the discovery of a site known only as The White Room. Uncovering the secret has its price, leaving her just 15 days to discover the meaning behind the cryptic website.
