Got a scoop on a little indie that could entitled THE GRAND HORROR today, and so far of what I’ve seen/heard of it, the flick looks pretty damn good. And a kick-ass concept to boot!
Here’s a little taste of what it’s about:
Revolving around six people who escape into a 100 year old theatre from the zombie
creatures outside. Little do they know that the reason the zombies refuse to
chase them into the theatre is because the theatre is haunted by the
butchered employee ghosts of the old owner of the theatre, Jack Lasch.
You see, Lasch went a little crazy and chopped up all of his employees in
different parts of the theatre. He wrapped their body parts in plastic
and hid them in “The Void”, a hidden place in the theatre. Lasch then
disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again.
And now that the group of people have entered, the ghosts are not
happy.
Disgruntaled theaters ushers? Absolutely frightening. Seriously though, the flick looks cool, and it appears as though gore is at the top of it’s list of deliverables. After checking out this interesting article about the making of this flick, which is currently filming on Grand Island, it made me respect these guys a whole lot more as filmmakers, and as lovers of the genre. Let’s hope they make a flick which is as cool as they expect it to be!
