Sometimes you hear a quote about an upcoming project that is so incongruous that you become naturally intrigued. Such was the case for me with the following statement from AWAKE producer Joana Vicente:
“This film will do to surgery what ‘Jaws’ did to swimming in the ocean.”
Huh????
Confusion aside, she’s done her job because now I have to check this sucker out. The [s]tory focuses on a man who suffers “anesthetic awareness” and finds himself awake and aware, but paralyzed, during surgery. His young wife must wrestle with her own demons as a drama unfolds around them.
Sounds downright tasty to me. Hayden Christensen will play the young man which should make the ladies happy, and as you may have guessed from the pics adorning this article, the wonderfully sweet, talented and uber-hot Jessica Alba will play his wife.
One final word to Ms. Vicente – you didn’t need to draw me in with comparisons to JAWS. You had me at Alba.
