The anticipation for Eli Roth’s follow up to CABIN FEVER has been growing stronger with each new taste that comes out about it. Especially since the flick, titled HOSTEL, promises to be an unrelentingly brutal genre pic with no concerns whatsoever about getting anything other than an NC-17 if that’s what it takes.
I mean for goodness sakes, how can you not love the concept: Jay Hernandez (“Friday Night Lights”) stars in the story of three backpackers who check into an unusual hostel. After a wild night of sex and drugs, one backpacker goes missing, leading to a grisly discovery. What’s not to like?
Today Variety reports that our Northern friends in Toronto are going to get the first shot at this sick puppy in September. A work print will screen at the 30th Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness. Good to see that Roth is staying loyal since it was the MM screening of CABIN FEVER that led to its sale.
