Two things come to mind when I think Austrailia: Crocodile Dundee and that time the Simpsons went to Austrailia. If there was ever a third thing, it would have to be UNDEAD. You have to appreciate the things the Spierig brothers did with what they had, and Lion’s Gate decided to show their appreciation by grabbing the film for Region 1 fans to enjoy on DVD.

Lion’s Gate lets UNDEAD out to play on DVD October 11th. The disc comes stuff to the gills with two cast and crew commentaries, deleted and extended scenes, a making-of featurette, a Zombies internet featurette, footage from the Toronto Film Festival screening, camera and make-up tests, homemade dolly construction video, animatic-to-film comparison and artwork/design sketches. Retail is $27.98. Unfortunately, there’s no word on if the R1 release gets the trailers for the film (both theatrical and teaser). Hopefully we don’t get stiffed on our side of the pond while R2 fans enjoy Anchor Bay’s superb DVD of the film (check that out here).
