Got a little treat for you my friends. The good folks over at Twitch Film stumbled across a full trailer for Chan Wook-Park’s SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE. It’s the completion of his revenge trilogy that includes SYMPATHY FOR MR. VENGEANCE and OLDBOY.
Now I’ll warn you the look isn’t in English, but the visuals are as powerful as you’d expect, so getting an idea of the story is no problem. What really struck me is how easily lead actress Lee Yeong-Ae (looking so innocent and friendly below) seems to inhabit whatever emotional state she’s in at the time. Believe me when I say she goes through the ringer just in the trailer.
Now details in the plot have not been forthcoming except as rumor, but you can bet that it’ll involve revenge for a terrible wrong, and lots of it.
