Got a little press release about Ghost House Pictures upcoming project RISE. Added to the already fun cast of Lucy Liu, Michael Chiklis and Carla Gugino are James D’Arcy (MASTER AND COMMANDER) and Mako (CONAN THE BARBARIAN).
Let me say I was pretty intersted in this flick anyway, but you add Mako (pictured right) to a project and I guarantee you I’ll be there.
Need further evidence that this will not be your average genre pic? Cinematographer John Toll will lens it. Not familiar with the name? Well let’s just say he’s worked on a few little films like THE THIN RED LINE, Cameron Crowe’s uncoming ELIZABETHTOWN, and oh yeah, won Oscars for his work on LEGENDS OF THE FALL and BRAVEHEART.
Just in case you’v missed the earlier write-ups, here’s the skinny on this little minnie: a supernatural thriller in which a reporter (Liu) wakes up in a morgue to discover she is no longer among the living. She vows revenge against the cult responsible for putting her there and hunts them down one by one. Chiklis plays ‘Rawlins,’ a haunted police detective whose daughter is killed by the same cult and seeks answers for her gruesome death.
