There’ve been quite a number of scoops, speculation and rumors concerning the Platinum Dunes/Rogue Pictures remake of THE HITCHER over the last few weeks. I’ve mostly left them alone because it hurts to have to write the words remake of THE HITCHER.
Nevertheless, Variety confirmed today that the pic will be helmed by music video veteran Dave Meyers with a script from Jake Wade Wall (WHEN A STRANGER CALLS remake).
Now the cast in the remake is gonna have to be near perfect for this flick to have any chance of not sucking. No specific news on that as yet, but there is a rumor out there that Jessica Biel might take over for the C. Thomas Howell character. That may just be wishful thinking borne of the fact that she was in Platinum Dunes‘ TCM remake, but I share the dish strictly for the obvious excuse to post the pic of her below.
