Hey kids, got some fun info from the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors convention in Los Angeles from The D.T.’s. He gave us a fair amount of SPOILERS, so I’m going to let you know when those are coming forth. Proceed with caution.

HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2 panelMark Altman producer of “Feast” Project Greenlight fame stated that there’re trying not to call it House of the Dead 2 for reasons you already know if you’ve see the first one. Mark stated, it will have the feel of a “first
person shooter” but will be “more similar to ALIENS” in terms of action and pacing.

From the footage, it looks this one takes place on a College Campus and…This one looks completely different from the…the first one but I still wasn’t all that impressed. The zombies look a thousand times better and each seem to have their own characteristics like Romero zombies.

First 15 Minutes of DESPERATION (MAJOR SPOILER) – Henry Thomas and a woman travel on a bright desert road…They pass a dead cat tied to a speed limit sign and things start to get creepy.

A cop speeds up to the them, driving erratically and forces them to pull over. Ron Perlman gives a commanding performance asking Thomas to sit outside without reason. They walk to the back of the car and Perlman
points out that the vechile doesn’t have a license plate. The mood shifts as Perlman becomes understandably cool, stating that it must have fallen off or gotten stolen. He tells Thomas to remove the plate off the front and put it
on the back. Thomas opens the trunk and inside lies a large bag of weed.

Perlman turns psychotic again and handcuffs the two throwing them in the back of the squard car. On their way to Desperation, Perlman reads them their rights adding that he has the right to kill them. Terrified, the couple agrees to these rights. They enter into the town and it is just what the sign suggests, no signs of life, a town in ruins. They past an old corpse on a bus stop bench. The sheriff takes them into a building where a dead girl lies on the floor. The couple starts to freak out. The sheriff pins Thomas to the wall and shoots him multiple times in the chest…. – (END OF SPOILER)

MASTERS OF HORROR news – Apparently there will be a second season of the series, and John Landis said that Argento’s work so far is “so
insane you’ll say what the f*ck was that”?
He added that Don Coscarelli’s episode is “Texas Chainsaw Massacre on acid”.

THE DEVIL’S REJECTS prank and screening – Rob Zombie showed his sense of humor when he pretended to have mike problems, finally calling Tony Timpone out on stage before revealing that he was just messing around. Funny shite!

Following that was a screening of the first 15 minutes of the movie which is described by our intrepid contributor as thus: A prologue scrolls up the screen reading something like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 1978 blah blah blah… mass murders… blah blah blah…search and destroy blah blah blah…It was cool, I just can’t remember it.

(SPOILERS) – Tiny is in the woods and sees a parade of cops car pull up to the house. He takes off his hood and we get to see his mangled face. All the rejects are in bed sleeping as the cops surround the place in broad daylight. The MOM (no longer played by Karen Black), BABY, OATIS, and RUFUS, spring into action when ordered to come out. They put on full metal chest plates and iron helmets. An intense gunfight battle breaks out, the entire house is shot to pieces. Tear gas canisters tear through the windows and in storm the cops. In the thick smoke, another slow-mo gun fight battle ensues and Rufus gets taken out. Mom rushes to his aid, as they tell her to drop the weapon, she puts the gun to her head and pulls the trigger. She’s out of bullets. Sheriff, “Looks like you ain’t getting off that easy bitch.” – (END OF SPOILERS)

Classic 70’s tittle, like the poster, fill the screen and the music starts to blare. Rob said Lions Gate didn’t touch anything and that it will screen completely
uncut. There will be no Dr. Satan, but there were scenes shot with him. His scenes were cut out because it didn’t fit the overall tone of this movie.

So there you have it! Sounds like a lot of cool stuff went down.

Big thanks to The D.T.’s for the heads up!
