TCM Gets Director

Well kids, the THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE prequel has gotten itself a director, and it’s none other than…Jonathan Liebesman????

Yup, the DARKNESS FALLS dude.

Now granted, there were definitely some slick visuals in that flick, but are slick visuals what we’re looking for in a TCM movie? F*ck no! Gritty, gory, heartstopping, disgusting. These are all things any movie with chainsaw in the title need to be, and are also things that DF was not.

On the other hand, perhaps Liebsman was as hamstrung in what he could do as the script was through the production process, so best of luck to him. At least he won’t be forced to deliver a PG-13 rating this time (I refuse to believe it’s even possible that they would consider that!)

And just as a final thought, if he wants to bring the lovely Emma Caulfield back into the fold for the prequel, I think that would be an excellent good faith gesture!
