Just got a heads up on a genre pic coming out of the Netherlands called HORIZONICA. I’ll let the synopsis speak for itself:
Seemingly aimless, a teenage girl wanders through the woods one night. A car approaches, and the driver takes her under his wing. Then, he’s astonished to find out she’s carrying an invitation to a school party that took place more than 15 years ago!
As part of their initiation, two groups of sophmore students are being dropped in the woods, separately. Their task: to find their way back to camp. By foot. And only accompanied by some food for a few days and a backpack.
The next morning a mysterious, frightening disease pops up in the civilized world, which wrenches its claws and spreads rapidly. A disease that brings out the evil in everyone it touches. With all the dreadful concequences that follow…
In the days that follow, the students become more and more aware of the appalling things that happen around them. What started out as an exciting and cool initiation adventure, turns out to become an unimaginable bloodsoaked nightmare…
Now I grant you it’s a bit all over the place, but how can you not love these pics. Plus, any synopsis that ends with the words unimaginable bloodsoaked nightmare is aces in my book. Now you can check out the trailer here, along with reams of set pics and other asundry goodies.
One note – the trailer takes a bit of time to download, but is well worth it! There is one moment that literally made me jump outta my chair yelling Holy shit! This is one that you’d have to poke my eyes out to keep me from tracking it down (probably have to take my ears too because the sounds design rocks as well).
