Ahhh the realm of the psychological thriller. Always a tough one to tell early on how genre-y a pic is going to be with that classification. Nevertheless, when presented with an opportunity to post pictures of Halle Berry, I am beholden to do my duty and give the pic the benefit of the doubt.
Which is all to say that James Foley has been tapped by Revolution Studios to direct Halle Berry in the, you guessed it, psychological thriller PERFECT STRANGER. Good news to me since Foley’s GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS is one of my favorite films of all time. Also, he and Berry have both circled doing an all out genre film before. Foley with the better than it had to be FEAR, and Berry with the disappointing GOTHIKA. Perhaps the joining of their Wonder Twin powers will create a genre piece for the ages!
OK, probably not, but heck it’s always possible. The flick tells the story of a woman (Berry) who gets caught up in the world of obsessive love and death online when she goes undercover to investigate a friend’s murder. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll go all STRANGELAND on our asses.
