In this day of comic-book adaptations being all the craze, it’s about goddamn time they decided to take on Will Eisner’s THE SPIRIT.
Around since 1940, THE SPIRIT is a masked detective thought to be dead, who fights criminals… with his homebase being the cemetary.
Not the darkest of the dark, but definately has potential of being a bloody good time. Jeph Loeb, comic book writer who’s worked on SUPERMAN and BATMAN comics, as well as a supervising producer of SMALLVILLE, is set to write the screenplay for Odd Lot Entertainment and Batfilm Productions.
But the coolest thing? Creator Eisner, who passed away earlier this year, approved the project just before he passed on- the flick will have the creator’s approval! Good shite!
Now who to play the masked man…?
