Bell Takes Pulse

Looks like star Kristen Bell is ready to grow up. Actually, if you saw her in SPARTAN, you know she’s plenty grown up! But for the majority of the populace that knows her as the titular spunky detective chick, she’s kicking past the semi-creepy state of the TV show and launching into big league horror.

She will star along side newcomer Steve Talley in PULSE, a remake of the Japanese horror flick KAIRO. The project was originally set to be directed by Wes Craven, but Miramax put the kibash on those plans by saying it was too much like Disney divorce finalized and stellar box office for the original and the sequel, and all of the sudden everything’s just ducky.

The tale goes like this:

Not surprisingly after his experience with , Wes Craven return to the project as director. That task falls to commercial pusher Jim Sonzero. Best of all, though, is the complete disinterest in irony Harvey Weinstein evidenced when he compared the project to THE RING and said,

I smell PG-13 kids.
