Fanogria got an inside scoop today on the upcoming HALLOWEEN sequel that’s currently in development.
Tentatively titled HALLOWEEN: ASYLUM, written by SECOND SIGHT scribe Matt Venne, the ninth installment of the HALLOWEEN series is set in the same state penientiary that Myers broke out of back in 1978. Somehow he got caught, thrown back in the state pen, and is now awaiting execution. The source claims:
“This is not going to be some neutered VS. movie, not filled with campy one-liners, etc. Rather, it takes the iconic Michael Myers back to his roots in a very cool setting. It’s really serious/scary/suspenseful in tone.”
It’s a little early to tell if this is actually going to fly, as it doesn’t really seem like a true blue HALLOWEEN flick. I mean, if he’s locked up, surrounded by other maniacs, how is going to slaughter his teenage hottie victims? Doesn’t allow for much of a body count here- and really, that’s why we love the HALLOWEEN series so much- his menacing, stalking, slaughtering ways keep us coming back for more! Take that out and what do you got? A frickin’ pussy in a mask and coveralls! Stay tuned to see if ASYLUM pans out to be anything at all…
