It took the release of
Steve Niles’ vampire opus 30 DAYS OF NIGHT for me to
gain awareness as to all the great work
IDW Publishing has been doing for the genre via
their countless release of varied horror comics. I just surfed their site and felt like sharing
what they have in store for us in the next months. Feast your retinas on these:
CLIVE BARKER’S THE THIEF ALWAYS
Within, Mr. Hood’s Holiday
House has stood for a thousand years, welcoming countless children into its
embrace. It is a place of miracles, a blissful round of treats and seasons,
where every childhood whim may be satisfied… for a price.
L.A. Detective Jack Dietz
thought his day was going badly before. He’s seen bodies that have been
partially eaten and a mob of ghouls roaming his town. On top of all of that, his
wife and son have become ever-more estranged. As Jack gets closer to solving
this case, he realizes that things are going to get much worse before they get
better… if they ever will.
In this debut issue by Red and
artist Nick Stakal (Hyde), a handful of outnumbered astronauts awaken
intact from their artificial slumber to find themselves pitted against murderous
zombies running amok on the ship.
RICHARD MATHESON’S HELL HOUSE 2

The notorious Belasco House
starts to exert its dark influence on the group of scientists and spiritualists
as they unearth the perverse and wretched secrets from within its walls. Hell
House has let them in but will it ever let them leave? IDW’s adaptation of
Richard Matheson’s classic tale of terror continues here!
And that’s just the tip of the machete; click
