USA rides the bullet

Fans of Stephen King will either rejoice or riot over his latest book-to-movie adaption RIDING THE BULLET, which Fangoira reports will make it’s cable television debut on the USA Network on January 23rd.

Everything I’ve heard about BULLET has been bad, and being a religious follower of King’s work, I thought it was an odd choice to turn into a movie. That being said, what was the point of releasing it theatrically, only to treat it like a red-headed step-child (i.e., made-for-TV movie)? And what a weak theatrical release it was, on select screens for a few weeks- and that’s it! No wonder it didn’t do very good.

No word yet on when Lions Gate plans on releasing BULLET on DVD. After it’s initial debut on USA January 23rd, you’ll have another chance to check it out on the Sci-Fi Channel later in 2005.
