Araki gets crEEEEpy!

I think there comes a point in filmmakers career when they throw out everything they’ve done before and do a horror movie. Most times it’s the opposite, with greats like Steven Spielberg (DUEL), Francis Ford Coppola (DEMENTIA 13) and James Cameron (PIRANAH 2: THE SPAWNING) starting off with horror, and then moving on to bigger projects (I said bigger, not necessarily better).

Director Gregg Araki, who brought us the blood-splattering, group-sex flick THE DOOM GENERATION (with Hottie Rose McGowan), is now planning on his next flick, CREEEEPS! For Renaissance Films. Scheduled to begin shooting this spring, CREEEEPS! is about a group of horny teenagers who go to party in their Malibu beach house only to battle menacing killer aliens.

I think it’s safe to assume Araki won’t disappoint us on the gore scale, and you know he’ll deliver when it comes to giving us a good dose of gratuitous sex. I’m totally excited to hear about this project, being a fan of his visual and directing style, and now that it’s going to be used for the good of horror, you know we’ll be in store for a tasty treat. No word on casting decisions yet, hopefully Rose (and her hot bod) will be enticed to grace us all with her SCREAM-ing talents.
