Variety reports that Clive Barker, who’s deprived us with his directorial brilliance ever since LORD OF ILLUSIONS, has a new project in the works with his production company Midnight Picture Show and Armada Pictures entitled PLAGUE, which should start filming sometime this February. This flick sounds pretty f*cked up- in the future, every kid on the planet is infected with the Plague and in a coma, only to awaken sometime later as possessed little hellions who savagely attack their parents for fun. I’m thinking Gabe in PET SEMETARY, only a hundred times worse!
Hall Masonberg is slated to direct this futuristic horror flick, from a script he and Teal Minton wrote. So Mr. Barker doesn’t seem to be involved in this project other than producing, but I figure that’s better than nothing- everything this guy touches turns to horror gold (at least in my book). His other films in the works right now include DREAD and TORTURED SOULS.
