Halloween is my favorite holiday (surprised, aren’t you?), and I’ve thought from time to time how cool it’d be if Halloween was everyday- running around scaring the bejesus out of random people, and always being on the lookout for ghosts and goblins hiding in the shadows (admit it, you do it too). Well Variety reported yesterday that the boys at DreamWorks have felt the same way, and signed on Carl Ellsworth (RED EYE) to rewrite the script for SLEEPLESS KNIGHTS, to be directed by Guillermo del Toro (HELLBOY).
The flicks involves a time-travel experiment that goes horribly (or not so horribly) wrong, sending the world into an eternal Halloween night- and it’s up to a group of adventure seeking youngins to battle evil and save the day. Said to be a cross between THE GOONIES, GHOSTBUSTERS, and THE MONSTER SQUAD in tone. Ok, so not so serious or extremely terrifying, but count me on board cause this puppy sounds like fun! We can only ask that it’s not aimed at kids too much, with enough scares and startles to satisfy the rest of us.
