Natali’s Necropolis

For those of you who are fans of THE CUBE, you’ll be rejoicing to hear that director Vincenzo Natali has a new project in the works called NECROPOLIS, being produced by none other than AVP director Paul W.S. Anderson. No, it’s not a remake of the 1986 flick about three tittied sex kitten zombies, but a ghost story in a Chicago hospital with biological horror elements. We all know how fond Anderson is about sequels, and he’s reportedly already talking about this being the first of a trilogy- all set during the course of one night (much like HALLOWEEN I & II). The story (what little we know of it) sounds damn scary, with potential to give us all a good jolt, as well as plenty of opportunity for gore (what else can biological horror do but eat the flesh away?). I’m just glad Natali is directing and not Anderson- sure, his movies have a cool look to them, but they just aren’t scary (or good for that matter). Natali is currently working on a documentary on the latest Terry Gilliam flick TIDELAND, which should be wrapping up soon…
