The life story of the doctor who assisted in more than 130 suicides is now coming to the cineplexes reports Entertainment Weekly. Academy Award winning director Barbara Kopple (Harlan County USA) and producer Steve Jones are planning on making the biopic of Jack Kevorkian, and who else to play the real life psychopath but Gandhi himself, Ben Kingsley. Although not officially signed on to do the project, Kingsley is Kopple’s first choice for the film, which will take a closer look at Kevorkian’s journey of being a mild-mannered doctor to a suicide assisting mass murderer, along with a closer look into his complex personality. I don’t know about everybody else, but for me, the real life lunatics are the scariest of all- I mean, look how many different movie maniacs have been created because of Ed Gein. Kingsley would be awesome, I don’t know anyone else who could pull it off better, plus the fact that Dr. Death would be played by Gandhi himself makes it that much cooler. It’s like James Caviezel playing Charlie Manson. Hey, now there’s an idea….
