Gotham City’s latest Dark Knight won’t be unleashed until the new year, but we’ll get another peek at Matt Reeves’ The Batman during DC DanDome this Saturday. As a little tease of the upcoming trailer, Matt Reeves took to Twitter to show off a new image from The Batman which features the Caped Crusader watching over Gotham City.

I can’t wait to see more! If this new image from The Batman is any indication, we’ve got a beautiful-looking film on our hands. Robert Pattinson will be starring as Bruce Wayne/The Batman, with Jeffrey Wright playing James Gordon, Paul Dano playing the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz playing Selina Kyle, Andy Serkis playing Alfred, John Turturro playing Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson, and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

Speaking of Oswald Cobblepot, it was reported last month that HBO Max was in the early stages of developing a Batman spinoff series revolving around the Penguin. The Batman‘s Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark, the series will tell a “Scarface-like” tale of the Penguin’s rise to power. It’s not clear if Colin Farrell will be reprising the role for the series, but some trades have said while no deal is in place yet, Farrell has been approached about the project. The Penguin series isn’t the only Batman spinoff in the works as there’s also one centering around the Gotham Police Department which will explore the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City. Matt Reeves has teased that the series will be a prequel to his movie and be told from the POV of a crooked cop as it goes back over many years of corruption within Gotham.

In addition to the new trailer for The Batman, we can also expect to see our first look at Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam and other DC goodies at DC FanDome this Saturday. The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4, 2022.
