Ghostbusters: Afterlife – Jason & Ivan Reitman interviews and more

Earlier this week, I mentioned how thrilled I was to interview Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon, but guess what – I have even more interviews from the junket today, including my talk with a pair of living legends!

Let’s face it – if you’re a child of the eighties (as I am), Ivan Reitman’s legacy looms large. His movies were the building blocks of my love of film. Ghostbusters is one of the first movies I consciously remember seeing. At the same time, Twins is the first film I remember seeing in theatres (although my folks told me I had earlier run out of E.T screaming and yelling and crying my way through Benji the Hunted). So when I got the chance to talk to him and his brilliant son Jason Reitman about continuing the franchise that started it all, I was pretty excited. I even referenced Reitman’s cameo in Ghostbusters 2 as the pint-sized kid who wanted He-Man for his birthday party rather than the Ghostbusters!

But that’s not all – I also got to speak to Logan Kim, who steals scenes as a new character named Podcast, and the always awesome Celeste O’Connor, who plays another new Ghostbuster named Lucky (whose dad is played by the perennially underrated Bokeem Woodbine). Kim’s story about his mom buying his action figure is pretty sweet, I gotta say.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is in theatres now!
