Phil Abraham (Mad MenOzarkDaredevil) will direct and executive produce the pilot for Netflix’s spy series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The project marks the action superstar’s first scripted television project, so the hype is real. Netflix’s Arnold Schwarzenegger spy series hails from Skydance TV, with Nick Santora serving as showrunner and executive producer. Schwarzenegger will also executive produce, alongside Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, Holly Dale, and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost.

The Arnold Schwarzenegger spy series revolves around a father and daughter who learn that they’ve been secretly working as CIA operatives for years. They realize their entire relationship has been a lie and genuinely don’t know one another. Forced to team up as partners, the series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action, and humor.

The spy adventure series has already added several series regulars, including Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate), Travis Van Winkle (You), Fortune Feimster (The Mindy Project), Jay Baruchel (How to Train Your Dragon series), Milan Carter (Dolemite Is My Name), Fabiana Udenio (Jane the Virgin), Barbara Eve Harris (Station 19), Aparna Brielle (A.P. Bio), and Andy Buckley (Jurassic World).

Furthermore, the series welcomed five recurring actors, Devon Bostick (Oppenheimer), David Chinchilla (Reacher), Stephanie Sy (Nobody), Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall), and Rachel Lynch.

Phil Abraham is no stranger to making blockbuster television shows. He began his career as a cinematographer on The Sopranos and eventually helmed episodes for series like Mad MenThe StrainOrange is the New BlackGLOWJack RyanHuntersThe Most Dangerous Game, and more. Abraham’s long history of shooting dramatic action bodes well for Netflix’s Schwarzenegger series project, which is likely to be a significant draw for subscribers to the streaming service in need of a comeback.
