The Super Mario Bros. teaser trailer date and Mini Mushroom-sized name change revealed

The Super Mario Bros., Nintendo, Illumination, teaser trailer

New York City Comic-Con is fast-approaching, and today we’ve learned that a Super Mario Bros. Movie teaser trailer will debut at the annual event. Additionally, the animated film brought to you by Nintendo, Illumination, and Universal Pictures is getting a slight name change. According to a recent press release, the movie title is now The Super Mario Bros. I did say it was a minor change, didn’t I? The teaser trailer will debut on October 6 at 4 p.m. ET during New York City Comic-Con.

While details about the plot are hidden better than an invisible Question Mark Block in the bowels of an underground dungeon, The Super Mario Bros. teaser trailer will likely reveal Chris Pratt‘s Mario voice. You know you’re dying to hear it. The internet will probably erupt once Pratt reveals his “updated” character interpretation.

The upcoming animated film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan Michael-Key as Toad, and Jack Black as Bowser.

Super Mario Bros is based on the classic Nintendo video game many grew up playing on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was followed by Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros 3 (after its debut in the Fred Savage flick The Wizard) and has spawned a franchise that continues to this day. Arguably one of the most recognizable characters in pop culture, Mario and his friends are beloved worldwide. After Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 made an impressive amount of millions at the box office, it’s time for Mario to get a piece of the action.

After a brief delay, Nintendo’s long-awaited movie will debut in the Americas on April 7, 2023. Curiosity is bound to sell plenty of tickets to the show, but fans will determine whether Mario has a future on the big screen. My fingers are crossed for the movie to become a monumental success.
