Earlier this year, Fargo TV series creator Noah Hawley went into production on the Alien TV series he has been developing  for “FX on Hulu”… but filming didn’t last long before production had to shut down due to the Screen Actors Guild strike. When the strike ended earlier this month, Hawley revealed they were planning to resume production on the Alien TV series next year, aiming for a 2025 premiere. Now he has reiterated those plans while speaking to Deadline.

Bangkok, Thailand is the base of operations for the Alien TV series, and Hawley ha said he’s expecting to head back there in January so filming can resume in February. He told Deadline, “We’re getting back into production as quickly as possible. We’re shooting in Bangkok, a half a world away; shooting again in the new year. I got some footage. Some of the first hour was shot before we had to shutdown. It’s stuff to play with and edit. I’m excited to get back in there.

The Alien TV series is believed to have an eight episode first season. All of the scripts were finished before the writers strike began at the start of May.

The series stars SAG member Sydney Chandler (Pistol), who is joined in the cast by Essie Davis (The Babadook), Alex Lawther (The End of the F*cking World), Samuel Blenkin (Black Mirror), and Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger). Lawther is known to be playing the male lead, a soldier named CJ. Blenkin is playing a CEO named Boy Kavalier. Gourav’s character is named Slightly, and Davis is playing Dame Silvia. Due to the strike, Chandler hasn’t filmed any scenes yet, but filming was able to go on for about a month with the cast members who aren’t in SAG.

Ridley Scott is producing the Alien TV series through his Scott Free banner.
