The Survivalist: John Malkovich pandemic thriller unveils first look image

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The Survivalist, a pandemic-themed action thriller starring John Malkovich and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, has secured a North America distribution deal with Quiver Distribution. There's no word on when Quiver is planning to release the film, but along with the distribution announcement comes the unveiling of a first look image, which can be seen below. In this image, we see Malkovich's character and five of his cohorts, making their way through the apocalypse with guns in hand.

Directed by Jon Keeyes from a script by Matthew Rogers, The Survivalist takes place

after a viral pandemic decimates the world. It follows a survivalist that is forced to take on a group of heavily armed fanatics who believe he is harboring the woman key to curing the virus and repopulating the world.

Judging by the picture, I'm guessing Malkovich is the leader of the "heavily armed fanatics".

Keeyes also produced the film with Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman of Yale Productions. Executive producers and financiers on The Survivalist include Roman Kopelevich, Richard Switzer, Ian Niles, Michael Barnett, Rob Dubar, Peter Anske, Lee Broda, Joel Michaely, Greg Ruden, Michael and Jackie Palkowicz, and Bill Green.

We'll let you know when Quiver reveals their plans for The Survivalist.
