For years, Awesome Art We’ve Found Around The Net has been about two things only – awesome art and the artists that create it. With that in mind, we thought why not take the first week of the month to showcase these awesome artists even more? Welcome to “Awesome Artist We’ve Found Around The Net.” In this column, we are focusing on one artist and the awesome art that they create, whether they be amateur, up and coming, or well established. The goal is to uncover these artists so even more people become familiar with them. We ask these artists a few questions to see their origins, influences, and more. If you are an awesome artist or know someone that should be featured, feel free to contact me at any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.This month we are very pleased to bring you the awesome art of…
Jaime Ventura

Jaime Ventura is from Staten Island, New York, and is a professional key artist for BLT Communications. His expertise lies in crafting visually striking compositions that capture the essence of films and TV shows!!
JOBLO: What got you started as an artist?
JAIME: My design journey began during the early stages of the COVID pandemic. Since then, I’ve been honing my craft and exploring new techniques and skill sets in poster design.
Who were some of your favorite artists growing up?
Coming up as a designer, some of my favorite artists were Drew Struzan, Kyle Lambert, Matt Ferguson, and Matt Ryan Tobin!
Who do you really dig these days, follow on Instagram?
On instagram, I’m currently really digging Akiko Stehrenbergers’ posters. She has a knack for powerful imagery paired with beautiful typography.
What advice would you have for budding artists today?
My advice would slightly shift depending on what the artist wants to do in design. In general, you want to stand out. As an artist, being a fully bloomed rose in a field full of daisies is the way to get creative directors to see your work. Having passion, a positive attitude, and collaborative personality will bring you farther than most people think.
Though common advice, keep going!! Everybody starts somewhere, even Drew Struzan had to pick up the paintbrush for the first time. Staying dedicated to your craft and not giving up is key. You outperform 90% of people just by showing up.
What should we be looking out for from you in the future?
What should you be looking out for from me in the future? I would say more official key art posters out in the world. One of my biggest goals is to stand next to a poster I designed in theaters.
Other than key art at the studio, expect licensed prints from me! As another goal of mine, that’s been something I’ve been slowly working towards in the near future.
Being a fansite, we have to ask you… What are some of your favorite movies/TV shows of all time?
Favorite movies/TV shows??! Easy; to start, Jurassic Park. I grew up with the franchise. Being that my childhood was pretty rocky in terms of health conditions, having Jurassic Park to look forward to at night was the highlight of my day. 100+ rewatches over my lifetime, it holds a special place in my heart.
Some of my other favorite films are Suspiria, Interstellar, La La Land, Mean Girls, A24’s “Pearl”, The Florida Project, and pretty much all of the 70’s-80’s Ghibli movies have played a big role in my life.
On the TV show side, my favorite show is Stranger Things! Close runner ups would be The Sopranos, The Queen’s Gambit, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad.
