Borderlands: Tiny Tina to be played by Ariana Greenblatt

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Deadline reports that young actress Ariana Greenblatt (Love and Monsters) will be portraying the character of "Tiny Tina" in Eli Roth's upcoming adaptation of the action sci-fi/comedy videogame Borderlands, who is described as a "teenage explosive experts who is seeking revenge on the man who sold her parents as test subjects to the evil Hyperion company". She joins Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Patricia Tannis, and Jack Black as the voice of the sassy robot sidekick, Claptrap!

Here's what Roth had to say about the casting:

Ariana is a spectacular new talent in cinema. She has already worked with many of my close collaborators and everyone raves about her. She blew us all away in her audition, and I cannot wait to see her bring the wild, insane and unpredictable Tiny Tina to the big screen. She’s going to blow up on screen like one of Tina’s grenades.

And here's the official synopsis of the game (which will presumably be the same as the movie):

Pandora is believed to be rich with mineral wealth leading several interstellar megacorporations to send colony ships there to capitalize on it, but once they arrive, they find little of value outside of undecipherable alien artifacts from a long-extinct race known as the Eridians, and numerous native lifeforms make it too dangerous. Many of the corporations abandon the planet, leaving behind their workforce, former prisoners coerced into employment, who take over much of the planet as bandits and raiders. However, a study of the alien artifacts leads to the discovery of mythical Eridian Vaults filled with untold treasure and wealth, which are guarded by extremely powerful and ancient monsters. Corporations and military forces return to the planet, along with a number of Vault Hunters who seek to find the Vaults themselves.

Meanwhile, no official start or release date as of yet, but we'll keep you posted!

So what do you guys think? Looking forward to this adaptation? Either way, sound off below!
