Shout Factory releases Hostel on 4K
Fans of Eli Roth‘s horror series Hostel will get to see all the delicious, gory details in ultra-high definition. Blu-ray.com has reported on Shout Factory’s five-disc 20th anniversary 4K Blu-ray set for Hostel and Hostel: Part II. This Limited Edition 4K Steelbook Collection was approved by Writer/Director Eli Roth and features hours of additional bonus features, as well as a reproduction of Eli Roth’s Personal Journal. This comes at an interesting moment for Roth, whose latest film, Ice Cream Man, opens in theaters this week. The Hostel series remains perhaps Roth’s most commercially succesful work, with him recently working on a potential TV version starring Paul Giamatti.
20th Anniversary Set
The description reads,
“HOSTEL: Two American backpackers (Jay Hernandez, Magnum P.I. and Derek Richardson, Anger Management) explore Europe only to find themselves targets of a bloody murder-for-profit business.
HOSTEL II: The second installment in this terrifying franchise centers around three American women studying in Rome. They are lured into a hostel by a beautiful young woman who sells them as the next victims of the horrifying scheme.”
