Carol and Daryl will be on the road in their Walking Dead spin-off

When the characters of Carol and Daryl (played by Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus) were first introduced on AMC's The Walking Dead, they were trying to survive the zombie apocalypse in the Georgia countryside. They have since moved on to the Washington, D.C. area, where the last several seasons of the show have been set. But after The Walking Dead comes to an end in 2022, it sounds like Carol and Daryl will be moving on once again.

The Walking Dead will be ending with season 11, and once the mothership show wraps up Carol and Daryl are getting their own spin-off. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang – who will also be showrunner on the Carol and Daryl show – said the characters are

going to be off on a different journey. And that show's going to feel hopefully a little tonally fresh. They're just in a different stage of their lives and it's more of a road show, which I think will be really fun. … I know Norman and Melissa have been excited about the prospect of doing something different and new, so that's in the future."

Kang also said that plans for this spin-off have been in motion even before the season 11 endgame plan was put in place.

During The Walking Dead season 10, Carol and Daryl were shown discussing the idea of heading off to New Mexico, so now fans are wondering if that conversation was planting seeds for the spin-off-to-be.

A show about Carol and Daryl traveling around post-apocalyptic America sounds like fun to me, but I do hope that when they hit the road they'll be joined by Daryl's dog (named Dog) and his potential love interest Connie (Lauren Ridloff).
