Jackass arrives on digital
Gear up for the last round of stunts and the great send-off to Johnny Knoxville and the rest of the Jackass crew as Jackass: Best and Last will now become available to rent or own on digital-on-demand. Paramount has announced that the movie will hit digital outlets tomorrow on August 11, courtesy of Paramount Home Entertainment.

The official synopsis for this entry reads,
“Johnny Knoxville and the gang are back for one final ride. Packed with all-new stunts and never-before-seen stupidity, along with the greatest hits and biggest laughs from the past — generations of mischievous camaraderie and the moments you never forgot. All leading to this. So grab your buddies, and get ready to laugh harder than ever — one last time.”
Knoxville gets emotional about the end of the era
Knoxville also opened up (heh) about Best and Last being the final film in the Jackass series, saying, “It actually got emotional,” as everything came to a close. “That really lands, this being the last film. And, I think it’s the first Jackass movie where I ever choked up… I mean, the last day of filming I cried, like, four times.”
Speaking to Rolling Stone in February, Knoxville revealed how Best and Last is the Jackass gang’s final rodeo, saying, “This will be the last one,” he said. “This is the natural place to end. So it’s going to be absolutely awful.” It’s been over 25 years since the series began, and with much of the cast now in their 50s, it may be a good time to bring it all to a close.
What did we think?
Our Chris Bumbray enjoyed this final entry, although he felt Jackass Forever felt more like a proper send-off for the gang. He said in his 7/10 review, “Even still, Jackass: Best and Last is worth a watch. Even though I’d seen many of the stunts before, I had a good time watching them again in theaters, and it’s interesting to see them juxtaposed with the guys now, with the majority of them well into their fifties. While some, such as Johnny Knoxville, avoid the more dangerous stunts (although he still gets rocked by a bull at one point), there’s a lot of fun to be had with their age. Guys who hit middle age have to deal with plenty of indignities, many of them involving their anuses being probed, and that fits right into the Jackass wheelhouse.”
