Indiana Jones is about to embark on a hunt unlike any he has faced before. The legendary archaeologist is returning to Marvel Comics and this time, he will be searching for some of the publisher’s most powerful and recognizable artifacts, including the Infinity Gauntlet and Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. Marvel has announced (via SuperHeroHype) its Indiana Jones Marvel Artifacts Covers, a new series of variant covers that place Indy in pursuit of legendary objects from across the Marvel universe. The collection features artwork from Iban Coello, Sara Pichelli, Mahmud Asrar, Carmen Carnero, and Marco Checchetto.
Among the artifacts Indiana Jones will encounter are the Infinity Gauntlet, famously associated with Thanos; Mjolnir, the enchanted hammer wielded by Thor; All-Black the Necrosword, the weapon connected to Knull; and the unmistakable mask of Doctor Doom. Indy’s search will also lead him to the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, the mystical artifact responsible for granting Juggernaut his powers.
The Marvel Artifacts Covers will arrive alongside a broader celebration of Indiana Jones’ history at Marvel Comics, including classic reprints and an entirely new adventure.
Marvel is bringing classic Indiana Jones comics back into print
Before Indiana Jones begins his latest comic book adventure, Marvel is revisiting some of the character’s earlier appearances. Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I and Book II are scheduled to be released in hardcover in October 2026. The collections will bring together Marvel’s Indiana Jones material from the 1980s, including comic book adaptations of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
The books will also include material from The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones, the Marvel Comics series that continued Indy’s adventures beyond the events of the films.
Marvel will follow those releases with a facsimile edition of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones #1 in November 2026. The same month will also see the release of the Indiana Jones Marvel Artifacts Covers, giving fans a chance to see the adventurer interact with some of the most iconic objects in Marvel Comics history.
Indiana Jones gets a new Marvel Comics adventure in 2027
Marvel’s celebration of Indiana Jones will continue into 2027 with an all-new series.
Set after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium will send the adventurer on another globe-spanning quest. The series is written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Aaron Kuder. The new Indiana Jones series is scheduled to launch in February 2027.
Between the upcoming hardcover collections, classic reprints, the Marvel Artifacts Covers, and Sword of Pandemonium, Marvel is giving Indiana Jones fans plenty to look forward to, including the sight of cinema’s most famous archaeologist hunting treasures that even Thanos, Thor, and Doctor Doom would recognize.
