He was born a cowboy
Brandon Sklenar stars in a film as a cowboy taking the law into his own hands when his daughter is held for ransom. And it’s surprisingly not a Taylor Sheridan project. Paramount Pictures has just released the trailer for The Rescue and it reminds you to “never f*ck with a cowboy’s daughter” as he goes on the warpath to find her. This movie promises to be more than just Taken in the country. Sklenar’s character goes on a similar mission to mow down whoever is in his way to get to his daughter, plus the inclusion of the perpetrators being a crime syndicate of some kind, but the trailer also emphasizes that there are some possible twists and turns in store for the viewer.
The Rescue
Paramount Pictures is working in association with Spyglass Media Group, Domain Entertainment and Hideout Productions. The official synopsis reads,
“A former rodeo cowboy (Brandon Sklenar) takes matters into his own hands when his daughter is kidnapped for ransom. With her devoted dog by his side, he sets out to bring her home and will stop at nothing to find her.”
Sklenar is joined in the film by a cast that includes Josh Lucas, Hassie Harrison, Lorelei Olivia Mote, Nick Searcy, Austin Amelio, Spencer Treat Clark, with Tim Blake Nelson and Josh Duhamel.
Potsy Ponciroli directs the action movie from a script by John Fusco (known for Young Guns, Hidalgo and The Forbidden Kingdom). The movie is produced by Shannon Houchins, Cliff Roberts and Potsy Ponciroli. The executive producers on board include Eric Hedayat, John Fusco, Tim McGraw, Tim Staples, Brian Kaplan, Joel Bergvall, Gary Barber, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro and Andrew Lary.
The Rescue goes on the pursuit on January 29, 2027.
Sklenar and Taylor Sheridan
Meanwhile, Sklenar will be reteaming with Taylor Sheridan for a new action movie. Taylor Sheridan wrote the script for F.A.S.T., which is slated to be directed by Ben Richardson, who helmed nearly every episode of Sheridan’s 1923. It’s an action-thriller starring Brandon Sklenar (1923), LaKeith Stanfield (Play Dirty), Jason Clarke (The Last Frontier), Sam Claflin (The Count of Monte Cristo), and Trevante Rhodes (The Predator). The film revolves around a “former special forces commando, down on his luck after he returns Stateside, who is tapped by the DEA to lead a black op strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers in his town.”
