Evil Dead Burn is heading home just in time for Halloween season. New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures have announced that director Sébastien Vaniček’s Evil Dead movie will make its global streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max on October 2. The film will then have its HBO linear premiere on October 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET, following special showings of Evil Dead (2013) at 4:45 p.m. ET and Evil Dead Rise at 6:20 p.m. ET.
The streaming release comes shortly after the movie’s September 22 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD release, giving Evil Dead fans multiple ways to revisit the latest Deadite nightmare this Halloween season.
What is Evil Dead Burn about?
The official synopsis reads:
Evil Dead Burn unleashes the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem. After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life… live on even in death.
The film stars Souheila Yacoub as Alice, alongside Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Erroll Shand, Maude Davey and George Pullar.
Vaniček made his feature directorial debut with the 2023 French creature feature Vermin (also known as Infested).
The movie is produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, with Bruce Campbell, Romel Adam, Sarah Spurway, Jose Cañas, and Lee Cronin serving as executive producers.
Evil Dead Burn isn’t the end of the franchise
Fans won’t have to worry about Evil Dead Burn being the last trip into the world of Deadites. Another movie, Evil Dead Wrath, is already on the way. That film comes from The Last Stop in Yuma County director Francis Galluppi, who was hired to write and direct his own Evil Dead movie after Vaniček came aboard Evil Dead Burn.
An animated follow-up to the Ash vs. Evil Dead TV series has also been in development.
