John Carpenter calls Halloween Kills “the quintessential slasher film”

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Cult genre director – and Arrow-in-the-Head fan fave – John Carpenter is not one to mince words. So it is actually quite exciting to hear how effusive he is about his praise for David Gordon Green’s upcoming sequel to the 2018 HALLOWEEN reboot (which is now technically the only canonical sequel to Carpenter’s own first HALLOWEEN film).

You can see how happy he is with the film in a recent virtual interview he gave with Tony Timpone for the Fantasia International Film Festival. The whole interview is available to see at the top of the article, but here’s the pertinent snippet:

It’s the quintessential slasher film…It is so intense…oh my god…it even stuns me how incredible it is. David just did a great job. Can’t wait to have you see it.

Meanwhile, HALLOWEEN KILLS will stalk theaters October 15th, 2021!

So what do you guys think? Fans of the recent HALLOWEEN remake? If so, also looking forward to the sequel? Either way, sound off below!
