A Creepshow Holiday Special with Anna Camp hits Shudder in December

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Season 2 of the Shudder streaming service's anthology series Creepshow is currently in production, and a couple of months ago it was announced that there would be a two-parter among the stories being told in the new season. Starring Anna Camp and Adam Pally, that two-parter was Shapeshifters Anonymous Parts 1 and 2, written and directed by Greg Nicotero, based on a short story by J.A. Konrath. The synopsis:

Fearing he is a murderer, an anxious man searches for answers for his "unique condition" from an unusual support group.

Now Shudder has revealed that the Shapeshifters Anonymous segments are not going to be part of a regular season 2 episode (or episodes). Instead, this story will be reaching the streaming service as an hour-long special. A Creepshow Holiday Special will be available to watch on Shudder as of December 18th.

Along with the announcement of the special came the release of a "first look" image, which can be seen below and shows Pally and Camp in character.

Nicotero had this to say about the special:

The Spirit of Christmas is alive and well in true Creepshow fashion. Reimagining how we look at the holidays and Santa Claus with an outrageous ensemble cast, a myriad of creepy crawlies and a few thrills and chills shouldn't be missed."

Craig Engler, Shudder's General Manager, added:

This year has been Shudder's biggest and best yet, and we wanted to thank our million-plus members with one last surprise. Greg Nicotero gift-wrapped the perfect present, an irreverent Christmas-themed Creepshow packed with humor, heart and gore galore."

A Creepshow Holiday Special was produced by the Cartel with Monster Agency Productions, Taurus Entertainment, and Striker Entertainment. Nicotero serves as executive producer alongside Stan Spry, Jeff Holland, Eric Woods, Brian Witten, Robert Dudelson, James Dudelson, Jordan Kizwani, and Russell Binder. Geoff Silverman, Anthony Fankhauser, Julia Hobgood, and Marc Mostman are co-executive producers, and Mitchell Galin is a producer.

A Creepshow Holiday Special sounds like fun, and I'm glad the two-parter is being released as its own thing instead of being mixed in with season 2's standalone stories. Shudder also recently released A Creepshow Animated Special to keep fans entertained between seasons.
