A Goblin in the house

This is probably a “horror movie” many of us won’t end up seeing, but let’s chat about it briefly anyways. After all, it is called THE GOBLIN, and while I’d love to see a serious flick released with that title, seems like it’s just not in the cards this time.

According to Variety, THE GOBLIN is about a suburban family that moves into a new home only to find a curmudgeonly goblin who doesn’t want them there.

Sounds like it has potential, but the producer says the Goblin is meant to appeal to all ages, so we know what that means… BUT, before you judge too harshly, think about how it could be in the same vein as BEETLEJUICE, or any number of “Amazing Stories” episodes. Sure, it’s not likely it’ll end up being as cool as those, but we can always cling to the hope that it won’t be some godawful claptrap like THIS hunk of bullshit.

The flick will be directed by Charles Gibson, a Visual Effects artist and winner of two Oscars, for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN’S CHEST and BABE. He was also the Second-Unit Director on THE RING and TERMINATOR SALVATION.

No word on whether or not GOBLIN will be doing the soundtrack…
