A SERBIAN FILM is scheduled to hit UK theaters on December 10th, but our friends across the pond won’t be seeing the true version of the film. The picture required 4 minutes and 11 seconds to be edited out in order to receive an 18 certificate, making it the most censored UK release in 16 years.
A spokeswoman from the British Board of Film Classification said: “A number of cuts were required to remove elements of sexual violence that tend to eroticize or endorse sexual violence.”
Is the film controversial? Undoubtedly. Is it disturbing? You bet. Does it endorse sexual violence? Hell no. Art should not be censored. Watch the red-band trailer below for a taste. Here’s the plot:
An aging porn star agrees to participate in an “art film” in order to make a clean break from the business, only to discover that he has been drafted into making a pedophilia and necrophilia themed snuff film.
Srdjan Spasojevic directs his debut off a script he co-wrote with Aleksandar Radivojevic. Hopefully his true vision will be officially released soon.
