A trailer of 9

Shane Acker premiered his surreal short film 9 at Sundance way back in 2005, and he’s been laboring ever since to bring a feature version to reality.

The computer-rendered style seems made to resemble stop-motion animation, giving a unique look to the film’s burlap men and abstract landscape. Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, Crispin Glover, Jennifer Connelly and John C. Reilly lend their vocals to the magical miniature dollfolk battling creepy mechanical monsters for the fate of the post-apocalyptic world.

The movie (not to be confused with the musical NINE) is due in September -9/9/09, of course. Check out the new trailer below.
