The few remaining months of the year will be quite the showcase for Lucas Hedges (THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI) as the young actor is set to appear in Jonah Hill's MID90S, Joel Edgerton's BOY ERASED, and Peter Hedges' BEN IS BACK. LD Entertainment, Lionsgate, and Roadside Attractions have released a new trailer for the latter film, which follows former drug addict Ben Burns (Hedges) as he returns home to his family on Christmas Eve and is welcomed by his relieved yet wary mother, Holly Burns (Julia Roberts). The rest of the family, including his stepfather (Courtney B. Vance) and sister (Kathryn Newton), are less pleased by his arrival. When it soon becomes clear to Holly that her son is still in danger, she must do everything she can to keep him safe.
The official synopsis for BEN IS BACK:
19 year-old Ben Burns (Lucas Hedges) unexpectedly returns home to his family’s suburban home on Christmas Eve morning. Ben’s mother, Holly (Julia Roberts), is relieved and welcoming but wary of her son staying clean. Over a turbulent 24 hours, new truths are revealed, and a mother’s undying love for her son is tested as she does everything in her power to keep him safe.
BEN IS BACK will hit theaters on December 7, 2018.
