A24’s Saint Maud coming to theaters later this month

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

While A24's chilling horror-thriller Saint Maud has been released elsewhere and in various festivals, it is finally going to receive its official US theatrical release January 29th (check your local listings). Furthermore – according to Deadline – "Epix went after the movie strongly for a pay TV-all platform release on Feb. 12 in a deal that was estimated to be in the eight figure range".

This is good news to me, as I think the film looked amazing, and I was bummed when it was taken off the domestic release slate due to the unfortunate Covid response in the US. And while I'm not sure I'll risk the theater anytime soon, it's good to know that it'll be available to watch regardless next month!

Anyway, here's the official synopsis:

Movie follows Maud (played by Clark), a newly devout hospice nurse, who becomes obsessed with saving her dying patient’s soul — but sinister forces, and her own sinful past, threaten to put an end to her holy calling.

Meanwhile, Saint Maud is directed by Rose Glass and stars Morfydd Clark, Jennifer Ehle, Lily Knight.

So what do you guys think? Looking forward to the film? Either way, sound off below!
