Abandoned: Emma Roberts is tormented in clip from thriller being released this weekend

Earlier today, we shared a video interview where Emma Roberts (American Horror Story) and John Gallagher Jr. (10 Cloverfield Lane) talked to JoBlo’s own Eric Walkuski (watch the interview HERE) about their psychological horror thriller Abandoned, which is set to reach theatres this Friday, June 17th, with a digital and VOD release to follow on June 24th. Now we’ve gotten our hands on a creepy clip from the movie, and you can check it out in the embed above. The 45 second clip is followed by the film’s trailer.

Spencer Squire made his feature directorial debut with Abandoned, working from a screenplay by Deep Blue Sea 2 writers Erik Patterson and Jessica Scott. The film follows

the sharply intense lives of Sara, her husband Alex, and their infant son as they move into a remote farmhouse, which harbors a dark, tragic history. As their home’s past is revealed, the mother’s fragility escalates to a state of psychosis that jeopardizes her own safety and that of her newborn son.

Roberts plays Sara, with Gallagher as Alex. Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water), Paul Schneider (Parks and Recreation), Kate Arrington (Night’s End), Addy Miller (The Walking Dead), Paul Dillon (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery), Justin Matthew Smith (The Righteous Gemstones), and newcomer Paxton Pope are also in the cast.

Abandoned sports a running time of 102 minutes and has been rated PG-13 for terror, some violent content, thematic material, and brief strong language.

Let us know what you thought of the clip by leaving a comment below. Will you be watching Abandoned this weekend, or later this month? I don’t have high hopes for Abandoned myself, but I’m a fan of several of the movie’s cast members, so I’ll probably end up watching this movie at some point.
