ABC developing yet another take on Jekyll and Hyde

It was only a month ago that Jared wrote about a new spin on the old “Jekyll and Hyde” story being developed for ABC. Penned by Sheldon Turner (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING), “Hyde” focuses on an ER doctor who unwisely decides to experiment on himself, with predictably hairy results.

ABC, perhaps going through a Hyde phase themselves and thus forgetting what they’ve got already cooking in the oven, has apparently decided to buy another Jekyll and Hyde pitch, this one more of a police procedural. Titled “Jekyll and Hyde”, it comes from writer Matt Lopez, who co-write last summer’s Disney flop THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, and the Mark Gordon Company (“Grey’s Anatomy”).

Set in modern San Francisco, it centers on a female criminal psychologist who is drawn into the mysterious world of a brilliant but inhibited scientist and his volatile alter ego.

How about they just combine the two projects? The scientist the female psychologist is investigating can just be the ER doctor from “Hyde”.

Or they can just scrap both of them because no one is likely to be interested. You know, whichever…
