INGLORIOUS BASTERDS at Cannes!
In an announcement that shouldn’t surprise anybody, Quentin Tarantino’s Nazi-killing war epic INGLORIOUS BASTERDS is now officially premiering at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off in just over a month!
I say it shouldn’t surprise you cause that was Taratino’s plan all along, to have this sucker ready for Cannes, and wouldn’t you know it, it looks like he’s staying true to his word. So while INGLORIOUS BASTERDS will be seen in France starting May 13th, the rest of the world won’t be able to check it out until August 21st. Can’t wait to hear the critic / audience reaction to the film!

New PELHAM 123 Trailer!
A brand spankin’ new trailer for the John Travolta / Denzel Washington action remake TAKING OF PELHAM 123 hit the net this week, which you can check out for yourself below.
Everything about this flick screams awesome to me, and with that hard R rating it received, you know it won’t lack in the violence department. Let’s just hope Travolta isn’t in SWORDFISH or THE PUNISHER mode.

COBRA Comic!
Back in 1986, one of the greatest action movies ever made was released: COBRA. Sylvester Stallone brought a level of toughness to the cop Cobra that we hadn’t seen before, with plenty of action and one slasher-like main villain, COBRA had it all, and it still ranks high up on my favorite action movies of all time.
But little did I know that COBRA spawned a comic book–cleverly titled KOBRA! Thanks to the boys over at Cannon.org.uk, the entire issue of the comic can be viewed–just head THIS WAY to check it out for yourself. Gritty, violent, the comic has it all. Since it’s based on the film, it should… but you never know! Released in Hungary in 1987, the comic is on online… so CHECK IT OUT! Crime is a disease… meet the cure.

ICARUS pics!
Dolph Lundgren is a big name in action–not only does he still star in a buttload of action movies (albeit on DVD), but he directs some of his actioners too. Case in point is the upcoming Lundgren flick ICARUS, which features Dolph kickin’ ass and blowing fools away left and right. At least, I think that’s what it’s about.
The good folks over at MovieSet scored hella NEW IMAGES from the film, featuring Dolph doing what he does best–CHECK ‘EM OUT!
Since you’re dying to know, here’s the film’s official synopsis: There were those who called him Icarus. Everyone else knew him as a divorced father working for an investment company. But they didn’t know his other side—his dark side. Because Icarus (Dolph Lundgren) was at his best when he was killing people. For years, he’d worked as a sleeper agent in America—but when the Soviet Empire collapsed, he found himself in a foreign country with no one to trust. Determined to break from his dark past, he started over with a new identity. But you can only escape your past for so long.
When a sudden mishap in Hong Kong blows Icarus’ identity, past and present collide—and the assassin realizes he is now the target. The people that want him dead will stop at nothing to get to him. And that means going after what he cares about most—his wife and daughter. Fighting for his life, Icarus is forced to face the demons of his past to protect the loved ones in his present. He must fight to save the only thing he’s ever done right in his life. He needs to uncover who is after him and protect his family — before it’s too late.
